The Early Learning Center provides a continuum of educational services from birth through grade three and is the only program in Utah that provides a seamless school experience for a full nine years.
The needs of the children in the Early Learning Center are great:
Identified as children at risk, early intervention becomes a critical tool in helping these children reach their potential.
The Early Learning Center employs numerous components to successfully educate children, including: continuity of curriculum and peer groups; low student to teacher ratios; research-based educational models and best practices; on-going teacher training; and structured curriculum activities that individualize, motivate and reward children. Guadalupe Schools provides additional support to ensure student success. Flexibly scheduled buses serve the entire west side of Salt Lake City. No matter how frequently families move, children can still consistently attend Guadalupe. Every child, every day, receives 15 minutes of individual reading tutoring with a trained volunteer. A network of collaborating social service agencies are on call to meet families’ needs and a healthy breakfast and lunch are served daily.
